The recent history of Stintino also passes through the beaches that are home to the now abandoned old “Tonnare”. Structures harmoniously nestled by the sea coming from the Saline back dune ponds, state to a past where the population, exiled from the Asinara island, their land of origin, found in these shores the possibility of surviving by fishing and processing tuna, which for its “Conservation” counted on the extraction of the precious salt. These beaches have offered nourishment and well-being to their people and, still today, they continue to offer everyone the opportunity to spend a peaceful holiday with many services.
DISCOVER THE BEACHES
The beach is a very fragile natural ecosystem. We recommend: not to take away sand, stones or shells, because they are the material the beach is made of; not to trample or tear up the dune vegetation because it is what protects the beach; respect all forms of life because the beach is their home, we are their guests.
